In a very exciting move towards developing Zinave National Park, seven elephants undertook a 1 500 km journey from the Maremani Nature Reserve near Mussina in South Africa. The elephant were kindly donated by the reserve to support the further restocking of Zinave National Park.
For a bunch of learners of the N’wanati High School in Limpopo’s Makuleke Community it will now be a case of pedal power on their way to class. This after 250 bicycles were donated by the Qhubeka Scholar Mobility Programme.
It was a good week for law enforcement in the Kruger National Park towards the end of October when 14 suspected poachers were arrested. This thanks to the collaborative efforts of the South African National Defence Force (SANDF), the South African Police Services (SAPS) and SANParks.
International delegates and conservationists descended on Johannesburg recently for the highly anticipated CITES CoP17 meeting. During a special meeting there was renewed affirmation from the Southern African Development Corporation (SADC) towards regional integration through the establishment and development of Transfrontier Conservation Conservation Areas (TFCAs) across the region.
