It was a good week for law enforcement in the Kruger National Park towards the end of October when 14 suspected poachers were arrested. This thanks to the collaborative efforts of the South African National Defence Force (SANDF), the South African Police Services (SAPS) and SANParks.
NEW PLANE AND BOAT FOR LIMPOPO NATIONAL PARK The Limpopo National Park now has new eyes from above and below that will be vital for the operations of the park, particularly to combat wildlife crime. A Savannah S will take to the skies while an anti-poaching patrol boat will cruise the waters of the Massingir Dam.
The Kruger National Park is the size of a small country and there therefore seems to be a lot of places to hide for animals under threat of poachers. Elephants however are however under continued threat from people crossing the border illegally
