The Great Limpopo Transfrontier Park Ministerial Committee meeting held in Maputo recently made several decisions which include the incorporation of the Greater Libombos Conservancy (GLC) as part of the Great Limpopo Transfrontier Conservation Area (GLTFCA) to enhance biodiversity conservation and community development.

Mozambique has become the first country since the signing of the Great Limpopo Transfrontier Park (GLTP) Treaty in 2002 to add an area to the Great Limpopo Transfrontier Conservation Area (GLTCA) with the establishment of the Greater Libombos Conservancy (GLC).

In a very exciting move towards developing Zinave National Park, seven elephants undertook a 1 500 km journey from the Maremani Nature Reserve near Mussina in South Africa. The elephant were kindly donated by the reserve to support the further restocking of Zinave National Park.
